Hello

My name is Andi Posey, MAC, QMHP

At EMPOWER STUDIO, I provide somatic and expressive art therapy that uses movement and the creative process to help individuals explore their feelings, reconcile emotional conflicts, foster self-awareness, manage behavior and addictions, develop social skills, reduce stress, and increase self-confidence.

With a background in fine art and policing,  my diverse life experiences help me to better connect with and understand the many challenges my clients are facing.

I strive to meet each client where they are at, to provide a safe space for expression and exploration, and to support each client with tools and strategies to reach their goals. I provide creative and innovative approaches to help individuals reach their fullest potential.

OUR VISION

The Man and The Horse

“There is a story in Zen circles about a man and a horse. The horse is galloping quickly, and it appears that the man on the horse is going somewhere important. Another man standing alongside the road, shouts, “Where are you going?” and the first man replies, “I don’t know! Ask the horse!” This is also our story. We are riding a horse, and we don’t know where we are going, and we can’t stop. The horse is our habit energy pulling us along, and we are powerless.” Thich Nhat Hanh

SOMATIC & EXPRESSIVE ARTS

In our journey to personal wellness, we must bridge the gap between our conscious and unconscious mind. Without deep looking, our thoughts, behaviors, inner drives, and motivations can become blocked, inhibited, and stuck. Like the rider in our story, we feel powerless and stuck. Somatic and expressive arts bring greater awareness and a primary focus on the here-and-now experience. Like a flower opening to the sun, this unfolding allows for new insight and meaning that might not be realized through talk therapy alone.

Through letting go into a state of creative flow, a doorway is shaped to listen, watch, and observe our sensory experiences without judgment or interference. Unlike other types of therapy that activate left brain processes, expressive art awakens and sparks the healing properties of our imagination to integrate lost parts of ourselves, reclaim our lost inner child, and give ourselves the gift of new experiences without resistance, judgment, or control.

INNOVATIVE HEALING

Where society builds walls, artists build windows

At EMPOWER STUDIO, we strive to create a safe and supportive space for people to express themselves through somatic psychotherapy, play, movement, and other forms of expressive art. We believe that everyone is capable of healing and our passion is to help others unlock their true potential.
